Oh I love Autumn and “Autumnal” is one of my favourite words!
How is it the middle of October already!? Now that we’ve changed our floaty dresses and swimsuits for cozy jumpers and fluffy scarves, it is super important to also change up our skin care routine. As your main barrier against the environment, your skin is taking note of changes in the climate and making its own adjustments.
The skincare and makeup products you used during the hot and humid days of summer are not going to cut it with your skin the same way during Autumn. Same goes for during colder winter temperatures and transitional spring weather as well. So instead of relying on the same collection of products all year-round, why not embrace the change as an opportunity to acclimate your skin to the seasons?
Here are some little tips to help you through the Autumn months.
Exfoliate
Moving forward into Autumn iits s all about helping to repair any damage the sun has done to your skin, and nothing does the trick as well as a good exfoliation! Exfoliation removes all the dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin, therefore revealing all the new fresh cells which create a beautiful glow and leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.
Try using either our APRICOT ROSE FACE POLISH or AVOCADO ORANGE FACE POLISH 2-3 a week. Both are blended with lots of Organic Shea Butter to really nourish and repair and the scrubby bits are Bamboo Exfoliant, little grains that really work without leaving your skin feeling tight and dry. Then for your body a must at least once a week is Coconut & Grapefruit Body Scrub. I always suggest to use it on dry skin first as it will really work well to buff your skin.
Repair & Protect
Once you have your lovely super smooth skin then you need to make sure you’re repairing it as well. in the morning it’s really important to put on a super moisturising cream now the colder months are drawing in. However even though it’s not summer the sun is still out and it can still cause premature ageing, so wearing an SPF 15 everyday will help keep those wrinkles and fine lines away for longer. I love to use Rituals SPF 30 everyday it is light and smells yummy!
Then at night-time when you’re skin is resting in bed overnight, it has time to regenerate and fully repair. This is the perfect time to cover your face and neck in a beautifully nourishing balm, serum or leave on mask.
So try using FACE RECOVERY every morning which has Chamomile Water to calm and hydrate the skin, Sweet Orange to balance, Shea Butter to soften and Hyaluronic Acid to plump. Before bed then use NOURISH URSELF, as this is a balm (contains no water) plant oils and nut butters really soak deep down so you wake up with silky soft skin.
Hydrate
The final part of any good skincare regime as everybody should be doing, is to hydrate hydrate hydrate! Best done from within, so drinking around 2 litres a day of pure filtered water ( this does not include teas and coffee!) keeps your skin youthful and properly hydrated so it is less likely to dry out. As we are made up of around 75% of water it only makes sense. Water helps you look younger by keeping skin hydrated and reduces wrinkles by filling in and plumping the skin. Water also helps maintain a proper balance needed to strengthen muscles. I personally have a BIG BOTTLE Co. 2 litre bottle fill it up every morning and drink it in a glass throughout the day!
So try these to help keep your skin hydrated, soft and glowing this Autumn!
